Hey Everyone! A Koopa's Revenge II Demo!

A few days ago I finally got a demo ready for AKR2. I let the regular readers of my userpage try it out and there appear to be no huge errors. So here it is for the public to enjoy.

A KOOPA'S REVENGE II DEMO

It's the complete first level of the game. You won't get a chance to see the map screen or the bonus game, and not all the graphics are finished, but I hope you like it anyway. Keep in mind this level is a sort of homage to the original Super Mario Bros. so there isn't a large variety of enemies yet.

I'm looking to get some suggestions, just don't demand things of me. What did you like? What did you not like? What would you like to see added? Do you like the music, or would you like to see it changed? Is it easy enough for the first level?

There are 4 Baby Marios in each level, kill all of them to recive a extra life.

Make koopa look REALLY scared when he dies, not angry.

When koopa dies, remove the eyellids.

Remove the eyelids? That would hurt wouldn't it?

Burning the Baby Marios is one of the most satisfing thing ever

Yeah it looks like a nice start.

I noted a couple of things though:

- Koopa still moves painfully slow even when running at full speed
- The theme music is absolutely horrible and everything with it sounds out of tune and, well bad. It shouldn't be hard to find something much much better :P

I was hoping the speed was only bothering me. My justification was that he's a turtle. He's got to be faster. I increased the top speed by 20%, which doesn't sound like much but it's alot better now. At first I tried increasing it by 50% and he was just flying around the level.

As for the music, it's not my favourite but it suits the game, and I'm limited to the audio portal. I'm trying to lean away from Mario music anyway.

It's a bit "slow", y'know like, you're walking really slow and such. But other than that it's great. Smooth animation and clean art. Only the duck animation looks a bit silly.

Like the standing duck, or ducking inot the shell?

If I helped make this game (even though I can't because I don't know how to make flash movies/games) I would do that, but only when he dies. (you know, the "daa...da DA DA DA da da DA dada DA dun" (death) sequence?)

Hey MCSMstudios, I found the SUPER secret level, hidden in Dry Desert 2.

Here's a hint: Enter the door on the left with a blue shell, and jump over a brick wall.

but I didn't complete the Super Secret level. I past the first three screens but not the fourth.

It's supposed to be a secret level. How is it secret if you keep blabbing everywhere.

That's intentional. Like in Donkey Kong Country when Diddy cartwheels off a cliff to get the bananas then jumps back on. I actually had to code that in.

Huzzah! Your AKR experience is complete.

I thought the collision detection was great, it wasn't spotty or glitchy, and I think the music selection is great! The graphics are really nice and not too simple, just perfect!

Man, you've got a great sequel in the works! Can't wait for the full version!

You know I was kidding, right? To me DDR must be done with the feet. Rhythm games using the arrow keys aren't my idea of fun.

I like it. Kind of reminds me of Donkey Kong Country. I know I've said many of your suggestions are too long, but this one may actually be too short. I'll have to see how it fits in-game.
