Some of you may know I've been planning to release some big news for AKRII. Well, this is that news. I've got some good news, and some bad news.

First the bad news. I'm cutting a lot out of the game. World's 4-7 will be condensed into two smaller worlds. The forest and ice world's are being combined into a forested snowy mountain, and the volcano world is being cut entirely. The Yoshi King mini-boss fights have also been cut, they would have been a real pain to test.

The good news is that because of those cuts, the game will be done MUCH sooner. I reduced the total number of levels that needed to be made from 17 to 7. The remianing levels will be more varied, so I should get less level-designer's-block when making them. I'm aiming for a release on the fifth anniversary of AKR1's release in January.

The progress. World 3 is now completely done. All four levels, the boss, and the switch palace. The first level of the mountain world is also completed (It was originally for the first world but was too hard)

I'll be updating the music post shortly to reflect the cuts.

A Koopa's Rebenge II Big Update

After several long years I've finally gotten off my ass and completed the redesign of my site! A redesign that I trumpeted three friggin' years ago. I've been really stoked on MCSM lately. I want my site awesome and I want more content and everything.

Every page on the site, now looks good, not just the important ones. It's all a wider format (beat NG to the punch this time) with bigger icons. We finally got a favourites icon. There's less negative space, and pretty headers top each page. All the articles finally have icons. It's looking so damn sexy right now.

In the future I plan to, bring back the forums, write better descriptions for the content, release some more interesting shirts for sale, and produce more videos. I'll even make some more Retarded series and Unkown Dinosaurs. Fuck, I wish I was on summer vacation right now.

How does this affect Koopa 2? I'm not working on it right now, but I'm sure it will be a positive thing in the long run. I'm gaining momentum.

Site Redesign Finally Completed After 3 Years

Just released a new game, MegaTankMan. It's a NES Megaman style game starring the Captain from Tankmen. Worked my ass off on this for the last few weeks. Check it out.

Next up, I started a webcomic. As a head-ups I'm flat-out telling you I'm not actually drawing new strips each comic. I'll be reusing a lot of graphics because if I did draw and scan a new comic four times a week I wouldn't have time to work on anything else. With that out of the way, it's mostly based on dumb things people around me say, and miscommunication. Check it out too.

So, I'm alive. Had some stuff happening, went on vacation, had some computer troubles, but I'm alive.

I solved some technical problems that were making it just about impossible to work on Koopa 2. Before you ask, still not done world 3. I'm working on several other projects right now.

Power of Three, I've been working on, on and off, since it started. Expect to see that eventually. Looking good so far, can't say much because it's not entirely mine to talk about. Maybe at a later date.

Another project of mine is a Flash Game, sort of an 8-bit NES style. Also somewhat secretive. I'd like this one to remain pretty much in the closet until it's ready. Currently about 60-70% done.

I'm also making a webcomic, due to start September first. I wanted to try something different, as in not a flash game. I'm thinking it will be a three comics per week thing, but if I can get maybe forty or so done before launch date I may do five per week or even daily. I've gotten dozens of strips written but only about ten made up so far.

Aside from those I have a few projects I'm not actively working on (meaning I haven't worked on them in a few months) including a cartoon about the evils of Switzerland, and that physicsy platformer. I'll also be doing some minor changes to my website layout. For one thing it's going to be wider, it's outdatedly narrow.

Before somebody asks, I'm almost done world 3. Currently working on the Inside the Whale level. Also I made an autoscrolling level. Had to get past something that was troubling me to make one.

So, main point, I'm thinking of changing the game's name. Something like Super Koopa's Revenge. Il like the word super in there, but I want to keep the name recognition from the first game, so maybe Super Koopa's Revenge II, with some kind of emphasis on Super. Though, the A at the start makes it come earlier on lists, but most people leave it off anyway, when they type it or do a search. If I chnage it too much it may just sound like a knock-off.

Possible Names:
A Koopa's Revenge II
Super Koopa's Revenge
Super Koopa's Revenge II
A Super Koopa's Revenge

It's been a while since my last update, but I've been a bit sick, and I couldn't for the life of me come up with an idea for the background. Had to do a lot to finish this level. Came up with a new tileset for underwater, several new enemies, etc.. So anyway, here's the new gameplay video.

So my site has gotten a huge spike in traffic and I have no idea why. Looked into refering sources and such but haven't gotten to any conclusions.

In Koopa 2 news, I've got diddly. I recently found my old Red Alert 2 discs and they've been stealing my life away.

Edit: I feel an explination is needed. You know when you're playing a game and it crashes or you forget to save several and hours of progress are lost. That's what happened with me and Koopa 2, only I was making a game instead of playing one. A crash caused me to lose a fair bit of work that I didn't want to redo, and I'm just finally getting back to it now. It's a real morale killer, I tell you what.

So, I've decided on the new map for Koopa 2. I'm going to keep the one big map style, but it's going to be much more interesting to look at. I took inspiration from the map in the manual for Super Mario World. Always liked the way that map looked.

Some may notice I've cut down on the number of levels from my original proclaimation of 80. But to be fair I also said it'd likely end up being more like 40, and the levels are pretty long. I've also cut it down to 7 worlds rath than 8. Mostly to get it done a bit quicker. I want this thing finished just as much as you do.

I'm also trying to cut down on the music used in game. So I'm merging some of the level themes together among other work reducing changes. It's going to take a lot of compromising to get this thing done.

It's not completely final, especially for the later worlds, World 7 in particular. I sort of rushed it to get it done, and cramped World 7 because I was running out of space on the paper. Here's the map, so spoilers are here.
